I'm MOVING! I'm starting a series here on ENHANCE so that you can follow my journey as a fresh out of college student trying to navigate into being a successful adult. I'll take you through the ups and the downs and all the craziness. I hope enjoy the series!
If you didn't know, now you know I'm moving to Kansas City, Missouri!!!! I got a job as a college adviser in a high school and they placed me in Kansas City and I couldn't be happier. To be honest this is going to be a bittersweet move. You would think that when I went off to college that would be the end of my sadness of moving but something about moving another 2 hours from my parents is getting me emotional. Luckily for me I have family that I'm close with that live there but there's nothing like having your own parents close by.
Since I'm originally from St. Louis you would think that moving to KC that is only 3 hours away wouldn't be that bad. But I think the scary part of it all is becoming an adult and doing things yourself and really having the freedom to create the life you've always wanted for yourself. I don't think it matters if you're moving to California or the next city over, making that leap into adulthood is scary and exhilarating all at the same time.
The biggest adjustment for me is going to be living as an actual adult. That means finding an apartment, searching for a roommate, learning to budget my money, paying bills, advancing my blog, putting time into my relationship, and thinking about my future. It all gets very overwhelming thinking about all the changes that are about to happen but I know that if I stay true to myself I can accomplish anything.
I think it's pretty cool that I can officially call myself an I-70 girl because I'm going to have lived in every major city that is connected by highway I-70 in Missouri. Not a lot of people can say that. I am super excited for what Kansas City has to offer. Of course I have been there a few times for family but have never really gotten to experience what the city has to offer. (Apparently it's the place to be nowadays.) If there are any people who read my blog who live in KC I'd love to meet up and be shown around just shoot me an email!
Well that's it for now. It's been real Columbia, MO. Kansas City here I come!
