#BlackGirlRendezvous

It's incredible to think that on May 15, 2016 over a month I graduated from the University of Missouri with my bachelors in Health Sciences in 4 years. That is a huge accomplishment and you know what's even better is that all over the country thousands of students were graduating maybe as first generation college students or walking in the footsteps of people older than them. Either way graduating with any type of degree is an accomplishment and should be celebrated.

That is exactly what we did. I'm convinced that either one my best friend has a heart of gold or she just likes to go out and have a good time or both but either way she went out of her way to celebrate her friends from high school that worked so hard and graduated with their degrees. It was a great night to say the least but with any night there are always the moments to remember.

Story #1| Since it was a celebration Charlene thought it best to get some celebratory cupcakes to give as gifts to us for reaching a major milestone in our lives. They were absolutely adorable and it was so kind of her to buy them for us. Charlene was also the one who chose the place for dinner and it was very elegant with lights so dim you couldn't read your menu and drinks so pricey you made sure it lasted the entire meal. But anyway as we were catching up and laughing and sharing stories and eating our wonderful cupcakes it was time to pay the bill. The waitress came over and informed us that there was an extra charge for bringing outside cake into the restaurant. I was highly confused because I'm pretty sure that she had come over multiple times to check on us and failed to mention anything about an extra charge. We paid it of course, but I thought it rude of her never to have mentioned that there was an extra charge (a cut cutting charge is apparently real even if they are cupcakes)

Story #2 | I'm not the biggest party goer because sometimes I don't believe in having to pay to get in just for me to spend more money to buy drinks. But on this night i decided to let loose and have a good time with friends. Usually I don't drink much because i usually end up driving but again this night I decided to let loose. So Charlene and I are drinking and dancing and just talking to everyone. All of the sudden this guy strikes a conversation with us and it was probably the most boring conversation ever. I mean way to bring down the vibe. The first thing I noticed was this think black ring around his finger bit I didn't say anything because I was giving him the benefit of doubt that he wasn't trying to flirt with us. So we kept talking and what not and then Charlene out out nowhere was like " are you married?" I was dying I was like DANG YOU ARE SO BOLD. He couldn't deny it and then he mentioned that he had a child who loved singing rap songs and then literally 2 minutes later he got up and left but not before trying to offer us some of his drink it was weird.

LOL it was really a fun night and I'm glad I was able to celebrate with friends from high school. It nice to know that everyone is doing well and pursuing their dreams. We might not be as close as we once were but It's good to know that we can still come together and have a good night with stories to keep us laughing for a while.

Here are some pictures from the night. #BlackGirlRendezvous
