It may not be the ideal situation but when you are a determined blogger and you've moved to a new city you 'll have to take matters into your own hands to produce content and images that keep your audience engaged.
I'm speaking from experience when I say that taking your own blog pictures takes skill and talent and is truly an art form. I have to preface that no matter how amazing I think my pictures are when I take them myself I thoroughly enjoy when someone else takes them because they can get all your right angles.
When I first started ENHANCE I was really nervous in front of the camera especially when someone is was taking the pictures for me. I don't know what it is but it makes me feel awkward when people are watching me pose and feel myself in the outfits I've picked. After a while I found the people who make me feel comfortable and truly knew my angles so I wouldn't have to worry about how the pictures turned because I knew they had my back. But every once in a while when I need to get content out and my go to photographers aren't available I have to whip out my trusty tripod and set up the self timer. I'm going to share with you the top 5 things you need to know when you have to take your own blog pictures.
1 | Have Patience | I'm going to tell you now you are going to be at your scene for a while. You'll also end up going home with easily over 200 pictures of yourself. Having patience is key to your pictures because you'll have to do all the adjusting of your tripod. You'll have to review the photos multiple times to ensure you're getting the right images that you want. You're going to have to re position over and over again.
2 | Buy a tripod | You'll learn that your tripod is your best friend. I'm not going to lie you can buy a cheap tripod and it will get the job done. When you're tall like me you'll find it frustrating that the height of the tripod isn't taller than you. You'll just have to work around that and find what's best.
3 |Be Confident | I know for me the hardest thing about taking my own pictures is that there are always people around and it makes me really nervous because I start thinking about what they are thinking about me. "some random girl standing on a wall just smiling, weirdo." Don't let your own over thinking get in the way. There have been many times that I have stopped taking pictures just because I felt awkward. You look great and I'm sure they're in awe with how you're able to just do your THANG!
Those are my 3 tips are the ART of taking your own blog pics. I hope this helps!
